Plan CRM fields for my sales process
Plans the fields a CRM needs for your sales process, split into must-have and later, with entry rules so data stays clean.
Task:
Plan the fields my CRM needs for the way I sell, so I enter little and still get the reports I need.
Context:
I sell [product or service] to [kind of customer], with a sales cycle of about [length]. [number] people will use the CRM, in [CRM tool or "a tool I have not chosen yet"]. The questions I want to answer each month are [reporting questions].
Rules:
- Split the fields into "must have now" (at most 10) and "add later".
- For each must-have field, give the type, such as text, date, number or pick list, the pick-list values if any, and who fills it in.
- Tie every field to one of my reporting questions. Drop a field that supports none.
- Add three entry rules that keep the data clean.
Result:
A table with the columns field, type, values, owner and question served, then the "add later" list and the three rules.
