Plan a cloud storage folder structure
Plans a folder tree for shared cloud storage with a naming convention, an archive rule and a migration order for old files.
Task:
Plan a folder structure for our shared cloud storage, plus a way to move the old files into it.
Context:
We are [team size] people working on [kinds of work] in [storage tool]. Our files today are [description of the current mess]. People look for files mostly by [project, client, date or type].
Rules:
- Show a tree no deeper than three levels, with at most eight top-level folders.
- Give a file naming convention with one example for each of two document types I use, [document type one] and [document type two].
- Define an archive rule in months and say who runs it.
- Give a migration order in at most six steps that starts with the files used every week.
Result:
The folder tree as an indented list, then the naming convention, the archive rule and the migration steps in that order, in at most 300 words in total.
