Match study music to the type of task
Matches types of music and sound to the kinds of study tasks you do, with a test to check what really works for you.
Task:
Plan which kind of music or sound I should try for each type of study task, and how I can test it.
Context:
My study tasks are [task types, for example reading, problem sets, writing and memorizing]. I like [music styles you like], I am easily distracted by [what distracts you], and I study in [where you study].
Rules:
- Suggest styles and sound types, not specific songs or artists, and treat each suggestion as something to try instead of something proven.
- Say what to do about lyrics for the tasks that use language.
- Give a one-week test with a way to rate each session from 1 to 5.
- If I would do better in silence for some tasks, say which and why.
Result:
A table with the columns task type, sound to try, volume advice and what to watch for. Then the test as at most four steps.
