Build a monthly student budget
Builds a simple monthly budget from your income and costs with a weekly spending limit and a small buffer, as general information only.
Task:
Build a monthly budget for me with a weekly spending limit and a small buffer.
Context:
My monthly income is [income sources and amounts]. My fixed costs are [rent, phone, transport and other fixed costs with amounts]. Costs that vary are [food, going out, books, other]. I want to save [savings goal per month, or "none"]. The currency is [currency].
Rules:
- Use only the amounts I gave. Where an amount is missing, write "not stated" and ask for it instead of estimating.
- Split the money into fixed, variable, savings and buffer, and show the sum so that the total matches my income.
- Calculate a weekly spending limit for the variable part, and name the one category where cutting would hurt least, based on what I said.
- This is general information, not financial advice. For debt, loans or tax questions, point me to a qualified professional or my school's student advisor.
Result:
A table with the columns category, amount and share of income, then the weekly limit in one line and a 3-item checklist for a Sunday money check.
