Turn dictated speech into clean text
Turns a raw dictation into clean written text with punctuation and paragraphs, keeping your words and flagging what sounds misheard.
Task:
Turn the dictated text below into clean written text, keeping my meaning and my own words.
Context:
I dictated this for [what it will become, such as an email, a note or a report section]. The reader is [who reads it]. Words and names that dictation often gets wrong for me are [list of terms and names].
Rules:
- Add punctuation and paragraph breaks, remove filler such as "um" and "you know", and fix repeated words and false starts.
- Keep my sentences and word choices. Change a word only where it is clearly misheard, and put every such change in the list below.
- Where something sounds misheard but you cannot tell what I meant, keep it and flag it instead of replacing it.
- Where I said a spoken command such as "new paragraph" or "comma", apply it and leave out the words.
- First replace every personal name, private number and secret in the text with a label such as "a colleague" or "removed", so that I can put the real ones back myself.
Result:
The cleaned text, then a list of at most 8 flagged words or changes, each with the original word and your question or fix.
