Turn a repeated task into a reusable prompt template
Turns a task you keep re-typing into a reusable prompt template with fill-in fields and a one-line test, from your best example.
Task:
Turn the example below into a reusable prompt template that I can fill in each time I do this task.
Context:
The task is [what you do repeatedly] and I do it [how often]. The result I want each time is [the result]. I use the template in [ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or several].
Rules:
- Read my example and find which parts change each time and which stay the same.
- Turn the parts that change into fill-in fields in square brackets of at most 6 words each, with a hint inside the brackets. Do not nest brackets.
- Keep the fixed parts as plain sentences, with the task first, then the context, the rules and the result shape with numbers for length and count.
- Remove names, company details and secrets from my example, and use fields in their place.
- Add one line saying how to test the template with a second real case before relying on it.
Result:
The template as plain text in one block, a list of its fields with one line on what to put in each, and the test line.
