Adapt my Windows setup for laptop and tablet use
Adapts your desktop habits for a laptop or tablet with touch, battery and small-screen changes, listed as settings to find and test yourself.
Task:
Plan the changes that make my Windows setup work well on a laptop or tablet when I am away from my desk.
Context:
My device is a [laptop, 2-in-1 or tablet] with a [screen size] screen and about [hours] of battery. I use it in [train, cafe, meetings, couch or classroom], mostly with [keyboard and trackpad, touch or pen]. My core tasks on the go are [task 1] and [task 2].
Rules:
- Give at most eight changes grouped as battery, screen and touch, connectivity, and work habits, each with the benefit I should notice.
- Describe each change by the setting or habit and tell me to find the matching option on my own device, because names and availability differ by device and Windows version.
- Before any change that uses a command, the registry or a driver setting, explain what it does in plain words and warn me about anything hard to undo.
- Add a five-item bag-check before leaving the house and a test I can do on one trip.
Result:
A table with the columns group, change and benefit, then the five-item bag-check and the one-trip test in at most four lines.
