Plan a Spaces layout for my work
Plans which apps live in which Mac desktop Space, with a switching habit, so Mission Control stops being a pile of windows.
Task:
Plan which of my apps should live in which desktop Space on my Mac, and how I switch between them.
Context:
The apps I use daily are [list of apps]. My work falls into [two to four kinds of work]. I have [one screen or two screens].
Rules:
- Use at most five Spaces, each named for a kind of work.
- Put each app in exactly one Space, except at most two apps that I need everywhere.
- Where you are unsure how Mission Control or Spaces behave in my macOS version, list it as something to check in System Settings instead of asserting it.
Result:
A table with the columns Space, purpose and apps. Then a switching habit in three numbered steps, and one sentence on what to change if a Space ends up unused after two weeks.
