Set up my Mac email client for fast triage
Plans folders, rules and a daily routine for your email app so a full inbox is cleared in two short sessions, with each change explained first.
Task:
Plan how I set up my email app on my Mac so I can triage my inbox in two sessions of 15 minutes a day.
Context:
I use [email app] with [number] accounts and get about [number] emails a day. About [percent] are newsletters or notifications. The messages that must not be missed come from [important senders or topics]. I have [number] unread emails today.
Rules:
- Propose at most five folders or labels and at most five rules, each with a one-line reason.
- Before any step that moves, archives or deletes mail in bulk, explain what it does and tell me to test on a small batch first.
- Apps differ in what rules can do. Say which settings I should check in my own app and do not claim a feature exists.
- Give a routine for the two daily sessions with a rule for what is answered now, later or never.
Result:
A numbered setup sequence of at most 8 steps, then the daily routine in at most 5 lines.
