Plan test cases for one web form
Plans test cases for one web form you own across input, validation, errors, accessibility and submission, in priority order.
Task:
Plan the test cases for one web form, in the order I should run them.
Context:
The form is [form purpose] on a site I own. Its fields are [field list]. It sends data to [where the data goes] and is used on [devices and browsers]. I have [time available] to test it.
Rules:
- Group cases as input and validation, error messages, keyboard and screen reader use, mobile layout, submission and double submission, and what happens when the network fails.
- For each group give at most 4 cases, each as an action and an expected result in one line.
- Mark the 5 cases that protect the most users or revenue as must run.
- Say which cases to automate and which to leave manual, with one reason.
- Use only test data I make up, and run every case in a test environment.
Result:
A table with the columns group, case, expected result and must run, at most 20 rows, then two lines on what to automate first.
