Plan a five-person usability test

Plans a five-person usability test with tasks, a script, a note sheet and consent, for a site or app you are building.

Task: Plan a usability test with 5 participants for my [website or app], including the tasks and the session script. Context: The product is [product description] for [target users]. I want to learn whether people can [key goal] without help. I can run sessions [in person or remote], each at most [minutes] minutes, within [timeframe]. Rules: - Write 4 tasks as realistic scenarios in the user's words, without naming buttons or menu labels. - Add a short script with a welcome, a note that we test the product and not the person, a request to think aloud, and a closing question. - Include a note sheet with columns for task, success or not, time, quotes and problems seen. - Cover recruiting by describing the people to find and how to ask them, a consent step for recording, and how to keep notes without names. - Explain how to turn the notes into a ranked list of problems after the fifth session. - Do not state research findings or numbers as fact. Say where a rule of thumb is only a rule of thumb. Result: A plan with the headings recruiting, tasks, script, note sheet and analysis, at most 250 words in total, followed by a one-line checklist for the day before the first session.
