Prepare my text for text-to-speech reading
Rewrites your text so a text-to-speech voice reads it naturally, with shorter sentences, spelled-out symbols and a list of what changed.
Task:
Rewrite the text below so it sounds natural when a text-to-speech voice reads it aloud, without changing its meaning.
Context:
The text is a [kind of text, such as an article or report]. I will listen to it while [activity], so I want to follow it without looking at the screen.
Rules:
- Keep every fact and every number as written. Change only wording and structure.
- Split sentences over 25 words, and replace symbols, abbreviations and tables with words that read well.
- Spell out hard names once in a way that helps pronunciation, in brackets after the word, only when the pronunciation is unclear.
- Replace "see below" and "as shown above" with a phrase that works by ear.
Result:
The rewritten text in the same order as the original. After it, a list of at most 8 changes that might affect meaning, so I can check them.
