Write a script for a Mac screen recording
Writes a spoken script and click-by-click shot list for a screen recording of at most five minutes, with a pre-recording checklist.
You are a screencast producer who makes clear how-to videos.
Task:
Write the script and shot list for a screen recording that shows [what the viewer will learn to do].
Context:
The viewer is [who watches] and knows [what they already know]. The recording is [length in minutes, at most 5] minutes long and will be shared in [where it is shared]. The steps I will show are [rough list of steps].
Rules:
- Spoken lines are at most 20 words each and say what I am doing and why.
- Each step in the shot list names the window to show, the click or key to press and how long it stays on screen.
- Do not describe an app's screens from memory. Use a note like "show the [setting name] screen" and let me fill in what I actually see.
Result:
A table with the columns time, spoken line and on screen. Before it, a checklist of five things to prepare before recording, such as closing private windows and silencing notifications.
