Plan sparklines for a table of metrics

Plans which metrics in a table deserve a sparkline, how to scale and mark them, and which are better left as plain numbers.

Task: Plan which metrics in my table should get a sparkline and how each sparkline should be set up. Context: My table has [number] rows, one per [what each row is], and these metrics, [metric 1], [metric 2] and [metric 3], over [number] periods. The table is read by [audience] in [tool or document], and the question they ask is [question]. Rules: - Pick at most five metrics for sparklines, and say for each what shape it is meant to show, such as trend, volatility or a last-period drop. - For each sparkline decide on the scale (shared or per row), whether to mark the last point, the high or the low, and how many periods to show. - Name the metrics that should stay plain numbers or get a different treatment, and why. - Say that exact options differ by tool, and tell me to confirm in my tool that it supports the settings you suggest. Result: A table with the columns metric, show a sparkline, scale and markers, then two lines on how to test readability with a colleague.
