Plan my first chart in an online tool
Plans the steps to go from a raw table to a first finished chart in an online chart maker, in a session of 45 minutes or less.
Task:
Plan the steps I take to turn my table into one finished chart in an online chart maker.
Context:
My data is [what the table holds] with about [number of rows] rows. The chart is for [audience and place of use]. I have [minutes available] minutes and have never used [tool name or "an online chart maker"].
Rules:
- Use at most eight numbered steps, each with a time in minutes that adds up to my available time.
- Put the decisions first (question, chart type, headline) and the styling last.
- Tool menus change, so describe each step by what to achieve and not by button names.
- If my time is too short for a finished chart, say what to drop first.
Result:
A numbered list of steps with minutes, then one sentence naming the single check I should do before sharing the chart.
