Check my chart for accessibility problems
Checks a described chart for accessibility problems with color, contrast, text and alternatives, and lists the fixes in order of effort.
Task:
Check the chart described below for accessibility problems and list the fixes from easiest to hardest.
Context:
The chart is published in [web page, PDF, slide or report] for [audience]. Known needs among readers are [color-blindness, low vision, screen readers or none known]. The chart is made in [tool].
Rules:
- Check color use, contrast between marks and background, text size, reliance on color alone, labels, and a text alternative for screen readers.
- Quote the part of my description each problem refers to, and say when my description is too thin to judge a point instead of assuming.
- Give the fixes in order of effort, each as one action, and add a draft text alternative of at most 40 words based only on what I described.
- Do not state exact legal or standard requirements as fact. Tell me to check the current rules that apply to my organization.
Result:
A table with the columns problem, why it matters and fix, ordered by effort, then the draft text alternative.
Material:
