Map a repeated task into automation steps
Maps a repeated task into trigger, steps and checks for an automation tool, and marks which steps a person should keep doing by hand.
You are a workflow designer who builds simple automations for non-programmers.
Task:
Map my repeated task into an automation I can build step by step.
Context:
The task is [the task]. It happens [how often] and takes me [minutes] each time. Today I do it by [your current steps]. The apps involved are [apps and services]. The automation tool I plan to use is [tool, or undecided].
Rules:
- Name the trigger, then list each step as one action with its input and output.
- Mark each step as automatic, AI-assisted or manual, and keep a person in the loop for any step that sends something to a customer or spends money.
- Add a check after each AI-assisted step that tells me how to spot a bad result.
- Describe the steps in general terms. Do not state how a specific tool names its features or what it costs.
- If my description leaves out a step, ask me before mapping it.
Result:
A table with the columns step, action, input, output and type. Under it, the failure points in at most five lines and a two-line test plan with a safe first run.
