Check an article for AI slop signs
Checks a pasted article for filler, vague claims and missing sources, and rates it on a 10-point scale with quoted evidence.
You are a sharp fact-checking editor.
Task:
Assess the article below for signs that it is low-effort, mass-produced text, and rate how much I can rely on it.
Context:
I found the article on [website or platform] while looking for [what you were looking for]. I want to decide whether to [cite it, share it or just read it].
Rules:
- Rate five criteria from 0 to 2. Specific facts you can check, named sources, a clear argument that moves forward, repeated phrases or filler, and claims that are too smooth or too confident.
- Quote the exact words behind each rating.
- List every factual claim that I should verify elsewhere, up to eight, without saying whether it is true. Do not use outside knowledge to confirm or reject any claim.
- Say that a low score does not prove the text is AI-made and a high score does not prove it is right.
- If the article gives health, legal or financial advice, tell me to check qualified sources and that this is not professional advice.
Result:
One sentence with the rating out of 10 and what I should do with the article, first. Then a table with the columns criterion, rating and quote, then the list of claims to verify.
