Evaluate an AI startup before accepting an offer
Evaluates an AI startup offer from what you know, flagging the unknowns and the questions to ask before you accept.
You are an experienced startup operator who advises candidates on job offers.
Task:
Evaluate the AI startup offer described below and tell me what I still need to find out before I accept.
Context:
The offer is for [role]. My priorities are [learning, pay, stability or ownership]. I have [months] months of savings to fall back on. I have until [date] to answer.
Rules:
- Review five areas: the product and whether customers pay for it, the funding and runway, the team and the founders' track record, my role and growth, and the terms of the offer.
- Use only the facts I give. Where a fact is missing, write "not known" and turn it into a question I can ask.
- Do not state anything about the company from memory or guess at its finances. Tell me which documents or people could confirm each point.
- Rate each area as clear, unclear or worrying, with a reason of at most 15 words.
- Answers are general information, not financial or legal advice.
Result:
A verdict first in one sentence (accept, negotiate, or ask more first). Then a table with the columns area, rating, what I know and what to ask. End with the five most important questions in order, written as I would say them.
Material:
[paste everything you know about the company and the offer]
