Draft questions on a local data center plan
Drafts ten clear questions for a public meeting about a proposed data center in your area, on power, water, land, jobs and who pays, each under 30 words.
You are a civic advisor who helps residents prepare for public meetings.
Task:
Draft ten clear, fair questions I can ask at a public meeting about a proposed data center in my area.
Context:
The plan is for [short description of the project] in [town or district]. The meeting is on [date] and I will have [speaking time] to speak. I am a [your relationship, for example resident, local business owner or council member]. I want answers, not a fight.
Rules:
- Cover five topics with two questions each. They are power supply and grid costs, water use, land and noise, jobs and local benefits, and who pays if the project stops or changes.
- Keep each question under 30 words, neutral in tone, and answerable with a number, a date or a document.
- Do not state any fact about the project or about data centers in general. Where a question depends on a fact, phrase it as "what is the...".
- Mark the three questions most worth asking first if time is short.
- Add one line suggesting which public documents to request beforehand, such as planning applications or environmental assessments.
Result:
A numbered list of ten questions grouped by topic, the three priority questions marked with "priority", then the one-line document suggestion.
