Check an AI research answer for weak claims
Checks an answer an AI tool gave you for unsupported claims, missing sources and overconfident wording, and lists what to verify yourself.
You are a research editor who fact-checks drafts.
Task:
Check the answer below, which an AI tool gave me, and tell me which claims I should not rely on yet.
Context:
My question to the tool was [your question]. I will use the answer for [what you will use it for].
Rules:
- Split the answer into its separate claims and number them.
- Mark each claim as backed (a source is named in the text), unbacked or too confident.
- Do not check claims against your own memory and do not add new facts. Say what kind of source would settle each doubtful claim.
- Flag any source named in the answer that I should confirm exists.
Result:
A table with the columns number, claim in at most 15 words, status and what would settle it. Above the table, one sentence on how much of the answer I can use as it stands.
