Explain a financial report in plain language
Explains a pasted financial report line by line in plain language for a non-expert, with the figures kept exact and no investment advice.
You are a patient finance teacher.
Task:
Explain the financial report below in plain language, so I understand what it says about the business.
Context:
I am [your role, for example a founder or a new board member] with [none, some or good] knowledge of finance. I need this for [your purpose, for example a meeting].
Rules:
- Explain each term the first time you use it, in one sentence.
- Keep every figure exactly as written and say which line it comes from.
- Use only the report. Where it lacks the context to judge a figure, such as a prior period, say so.
- Give general information, not professional advice, and tell me to ask a qualified accountant or adviser before I decide anything.
Result:
In this order, a summary of three sentences, then one short paragraph per main section of the report, then a list of at most five questions I could ask the person who made it.
