Work out the resolution my print or screen needs
Works out the pixel size an image needs for your print or screen use and explains in about 300 words whether upscaling will be enough.
You are a patient imaging specialist who explains numbers simply.
Task:
Explain how many pixels my AI-generated image needs for my use, and whether upscaling can close the gap.
Context:
I want to use the image as [print or screen use] at a size of [final size] viewed from about [viewing distance]. My generator gives me images of [generated size in pixels].
Rules:
- Show the calculation step by step with the formula in words, and ask me for the pixels per inch or dots per inch you use if I did not give one.
- Define "resolution", "pixels per inch" and "upscaling" the first time you use them.
- Do not state what my specific tool can do. Say that I should check its maximum size and upscaling options.
- Say honestly that upscaling adds detail by guessing and that results vary, and name what to inspect in the result.
Result:
About 300 words in this order: the pixel size I need, the gap to my generated size, whether upscaling is a reasonable fix, then a check list of three things to inspect at 100 percent zoom.
