Teach me Markdown basics with a practice note
Teaches the Markdown you need for everyday notes in under 10 minutes, with a practice exercise built from your own kind of notes.
Task:
Teach me the Markdown I need for everyday notes, with one practice note I can retype and check myself.
Context:
I want to use Markdown for [meeting notes, to-do lists, documentation or journaling]. My experience with plain-text formatting is [none or some]. I will practice in [the editor or app I use].
Rules:
- Cover at most eight pieces of syntax, chosen for my use, each with a one-line example showing the typed text and what it becomes.
- Say that some editors support extra syntax and differ in details, and tell me to confirm in my own editor which of the eight work.
- Write the practice note as a short text with five formatting gaps, followed by the answers in a separate part I can cover.
Result:
The eight pieces of syntax as a two-column table, then the practice note, then the answers, at most 250 words in total.
